I’m having all kinds of issues right now with Jetpack. First, all my blog posts show up as “Loading Title” on my stats page. Pages show up correctly, but not blog posts. Second, the WordPress app will not sync any of my posts. It gives me an error message everytime:

JetPack site is inaccessible or returned error: transport error – HTTP status code was not 200 (406) (-32300)

    Things I’ve tried.
    1) contacts my theme provider, they said there was no issues on their end.
    2) Contacted my host in Regards to the XMLRPC file from your trouble shooting guide. No issues.
    3) a friend suggested I may have to increase my memory in php.ini. It was already at 512M.
    4) deactivated my plugins one at a time, no conflicts found.

My site is GoingFor2.com. Thank you in advance.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That 406 error indicates that your hosting provider had specific security rules in place (thanks to a tool named Mod Security) that blocked your site’s communication with WordPress.com.

However, looking at your site right now, I don’t see any communication issues anymore. Did you manage to solve the issue by yourself?

If you still experience issues, can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

Yes. I was able to fix it, though I’m not sure how? I simply deactivated and reactivated it, and it worked. I had tried that before, and it didn’t change anything. But all is good now. Thank you.

I’m having this issue again. Could it be my host? I don’t understand why it’ll work for awhile and suddenly stop working? I tried deactivating and reactivating, but this time it won’t even let me reconnect at all.

Since the error is still the same (406), the problem is definitely related to your host. One of their security measures must trigger a block from time to time, or in certain conditions, and you’ll run into the issue from time to time.

Since the security measures are not added in WordPress or handled by Jetpack, deactivating and reactivating won’t change much I’m afraid.

Here is the error we receive when trying to connect to your site’s XML-RPC file from WordPress.com right now:

    Error 406 – Not Acceptable

Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security. If you believe that your request has been blocked by mistake please contact the web site owner.

Could you contact your hosting provider and ask them if they could allow all incoming XML-RPC requests from WordPress.com on your site, to avoid these issues? That should help.

Okay. I will contact them. Thank you very much. I’ll let you know the end results.
