• I had the raw gzipped code showing on public pages for regular visitors and while logged in. This wasn’t an issue until updating to version 0.9.5.

Disabling the GZIP option within Browser Caching settings fixed the issue for now. It’d be nice to have the root of this resolved since this wasn’t an issue for this site until 0.9.5.

  • What do you mean by the raw gzip code? Do you have a snippet of it

I’ve fixed the issue momentarily by disabling gzip via the plugin and I don’t really want to re-enable it to provide a snippet.

The web page source was 100% gibberish. It had symbols and other text as the entirety of the page. It’s as if you opened the .gz version of the page in a text editor.

    same here

This sounds like the content is being GZipped twice first make sure you don’t have any other plugin that adds GZIP to the htaccess from there I would disable GZIP in the browser cache settings and run the server through Gtmetrix.com and see if it stats you need to enable gzip if not you are good if so then there is a bug.

I ran the problematic site through GTMetrix.com and it gives it an “F” Grade for gzip and says it should have gzip enabled. This is the same site where it would display the raw compressed data if switching the one setting to enable gzip via W3 Total Cache… which wasn’t an issue until this 0.9.5 update… so it sounds like a bug.

I’ll steal the topic a bit and say I, too, am experiencing this instantly as soon as I upgrade from 0.9.4.1 to 0.9.5.*. See example of the output here.

Followed the previous instructions to no help other than disabling gzip completely, which is a shame. GTMetrix shows the same results as @kzeni.

Worth mentioning, again, is that I had absolutely no issues with the plugin pre-0.9.5.*. Also updated PHP version to the latest to no success.
