Artist page link = 404

Hey Jonathan,

I guess you are referring to the ‘Artist URL’ field, right? You can input an external URL (to the artist website) or you can create a page in your site and include a shortcode with the matching ‘artist’ parameter, and then use the URL of that page as the Artist URL.

Hi Nico. No, I’m actually talking about what happens when I hover over the artist name in the Artists list view, and similar links to that same view such as in The Events Calendar Pro view enabled by their plugin to connect the two plugins. Back in GigPress there’s that Artists page which lists all artists. When I click on an artist the resulting page is a 404. That seems like something that should be getting auto generated in the system, but please advise. Thanks.

It’s occurring to me that the “artist URL” on the artist creation page may not be auto generated on the site itself, but rather might be assumed to be a URL off-site to an existing performer page. Is that the case or is GigPress supposed to create its own URL for the artist?

I’d love to help out here. GigPress artist links shouldn’t cause a 404 error. So, could you possibly share a link to your site and a link to your artist list view so that I can see this firsthand?

Thanks Shelby. Unfortunately I had to remove GigPress. The site was in active development and I’m just not able to wait this long for support. I know folks are busy but nearly 2 weeks just won’t work for my business. If you/Modern Tribe decide to provide premium support with faster response times I’d be happy to reconsider.

Also, I can confirm that the Artist link comes from wp-admin > GigPress > Artists > Add an artist > Artist URL

I verified that an Artist without an Artist URL shouldn’t be linking anywhere. Therefore, please do make sure the Artist(s) that is linked and going to a 404 has a valid Artist URL.
