I thought I would post my solution in case anyone else has this issue with The Events Calendar. In my case a person with an editor role needed to be able to edit the content that appears before and after the calendar, but this can only be changed in settings. I would have had to make him an administrator to allow this. Instead I added 2 pages, one for the before content and one for the after content. I then used shortcodes generated by the Insert Pages plugin in The Events Calendar settings to bring in the content to the calendar page.

(It looked like there were other plugins that would do the same thing.)

Please disregard this duplicate post. In this first attempt I didn’t get it posted in the plug-in’s forum.
