  • The file seems to be working fine for me, as I can download and unzip it. Maybe could try downloading again?

I’m on WP 2.6.3. This file didn’t unzip for me –wasting time

there’s nothing wrong with that zip. Its your operating system (windows Vista) — learn to use it here:

I’m on windows XP,btw. the zip arrives at my webhost site already open–So when that happens, I haven’t figured out how to get my webhost to upload to WP plugin.
My webhost does that to a lot on WP zips. I just assumed they were bad zips. Maybe it’s my webhost?
    Lunarpages web hosting–
I did manage to password protect my entire subdomain with C panel’s “password protect directory”. I used public/html__”subdomain name” (folder) I clicked on “subdomain name” and Lunarpages did the rest–that’s even hotter—not bad for a newbie I’d say.–hehe
    Thanks anyways

Maybe my webhost (lunarpages) is messing up.
The zip arrived there already open, so there was nothing to extract. When that happens, I can’t get the plugin to upload to WP plugin site.
I did manage to password protect my entire sub-domain using lunarpages password protect directories.

How about you just download it to your computer, unzip it, and then upload it? The problem is your webhost, not the ZIP.

And regardless, I have no control over the ZIP file. I upload the files via SVN and then the www.ads-software.com server ZIP’s it up.

Right, I think this might be the area I need to be in…

I downloaded WordPress 2.7.1, but Windows did not know where the file came from.
I have a Web Host… but not sure if it is set up properly.

Does my web host have to be up and running for Windows to recognise it and for me to be able to Un-Zip the file?

Please can someone help me, as I need to set up a hosted website, and have virtually no idea how to do it.

Will be grateful for ANY Help ??
