ERROR: Invalid site key — Why does this keep happening?

  • Hi,
    this is the second time already (within approx. 2 months) that I’m getting this error:
    “ERROR for site owner:
    Invalid site key”

    This essentially locks me out as admin. (don’t even know right now how to fix it)
    But the more important question is:
    Why does this keep happening?
    This was the second key already i.e. this happened already once
    and my fix previously was to get new keys from Google.
    And now this happened again.

    Any ideas how to fix this permanently?
    It would be extremely annoying if this kept happening over and over again.

    Update: Turns out, for some reason, I still had the old site key the database (found via phpMyAdmin db search).
    Replaced those keys with the new one and it’s working again. ??
