• I’m using Foogallery and some of its extensions in my blog and i’m really satisfied with the plugin’s functions.
But i always fight with the cropping function that has been added to WP’s own image editor.
WP automatically rotates portrait images to landscape, so i have to re-rotate them back to portrait after upload.
Now here the cropping function added by Foogallery always cuts off parts of my images and i have no control about this; the available cropping positions are not suitable for portait images.
How can i disable the cropping function in the WP image editor?
For me there are enough image control options in the gallery settings and i dont want to crop my images at all in the editor….

  • While adding images to foogallery you have “crop position” option. You can even disable crop for standard responsive template.

Or simply always add full size image to foogallery instead of thumbnail created by wordpress.

Wordpress by itself does not crop images, only thumbnails. If you are not happy with default thumbnail sizes from wordpress, then you can create your own size for media:

    – but i’m not 100% what are you trying to accomplish.

    Hi Nikodemsky,

there is a “crop image” option added by foogallery in the wordpress standard image editor (the tool that opens if you go to the “edit image” option in the WP media library, where you then could rotate/mirror images). This is the option i want to disable.
This is before i can add images to a gallery.
In the settings of a specific gallery i have disabled the “crop thumbnails to exact dimensions” option, but this is the only option i have regarding cropping.

What i’m trying to achieve is if i have a gallery with landscape and portrait images i want to display them all in their original orientation without cropping.
