[Plugin: Auto BlogRoll] I’m getting an error on install

  • When I upload the plugin folder auto-blogroll to the plugin folder I get an error when I go to activate the plugin:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in wp-content/plugins/auto-blogroll/ab_function.php on line 340

    Also there are 2 auto-blogroll plugins showing on plugin page. I get similar errors regardless of which one I activate. Any idea as to what the problem?

    I downloaded it again and I get this error:

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/auto-blogroll/ab_function.php on line 340

    Also, when I upload the whole folder I get 2 Auto Blogroll on the plugin page to activate. I get an error no matter which one I activate.

    Maybe I’m doing something wrong. Do I upload the whole auto-blogroll to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory or just the individual files themselves?

    Also, I see you have these instructions:
    Upload and activate, set permission of plug-in directory and current template directory as “0777”.

    Do I need to have the plugin directory permissions 777? And you also said themes. Do you mean the current theme I am using for wordpress, or the general directory that says themes? It confusing since I did not see instructions to put anything into the themes directory. Thanks for your help.

    I have uploaded V1.1 but now still is V1.0, please waiting for the V1.1 appear!

    You need set 0777 for plugin directory permissions and current theme directory!

    the error is ab_function.php missing a “?>” at end!

    Ok, I downloaded the new version. Good news and bad news.

    Good news – there now is only 1 plugin showing up on the admin plugin page when I upload your plugin.

    Bad news is I am still getting an error:
    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/auto-blogroll/ab_function.php on line 332

    This is on line 332:
    private function groupBy($data,$key)

    If I recall correctly, I think that line was on 340 before where the problem was. Not sure though. I also made sure that I gave 0777 permissions to the plugin directory and current theme. Just call me your personal plugin beta tester. ??

    please tell me you version of PHP, plugin have through php4 and php5,and so many down none but you show the error.

    here after uploading the plugin, after click ‘activate this plugin‘, the page doesn’t keep on working and just the browser status is ‘waiting for reply‘ and nothing happened, even the site will not load for some minutes unless removing the plugin folder. finally i should say it doesn’t work, if there is any help so give. thanks anyhow
