Customize or Replace?

  • I’m not new to WP, but I don’t know enough (apparently).

    In particular, when it comes to the header/main menu area:

    1. Is it best to work with what a theme gives you, and try to modify it to suit your needs, or

    2. Create your own replacement elements?
