• or otherwise How to Hide a Post?

Hi, there! I have a question.
I wrote a post and scheduled it to be published on n’th day from now on, but it’s revealed itself in one of the widgets, namely ‘Editor’s Choice’ (but it doesn’t matter where to be correct).

I want it to be hidden completely until a specified time, but I don’t know how to do that. Just to make it private dosn’t work because when I make it private it stays visible (not the post itself but its announce in a widget) except with a tag ‘Private’ that appears on the left.

When I click on it the site returns ‘404’ page, but that’s not what I would like to get.

Well also there is a strong desire to escape installing a next batch of ‘must have’ plugins and so on. Moreover as I know widely advisable plugin WP Hide Post hasn’t been updated for around a year and that stays unknown (to me at least) whether it’s still supported or not.

Is there anybody with an appropriate expertise in such a delicate affair? ))

    Thank you,

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Just a moment! I didn’t say that something doesn’t work (or work improperly), I said (meant) that standard functionality (if I know it well, I am not sure) of WP doesn’t fit my needs and asked to show me some hints/hacks if there are such which could be an answer. So do they exist?

Can’t believe that there is no way to make WP hide (completerly) some posts from other eyes.

    Hi ecodume,

I think the widget does not check for private post and shows all posts.

To hide the post, you can keep the post as draft until the day to publish comes.

How can I convert a published (yet delayed) post back into a draft?
And I suppose it could serve as a makeshift, second-best decision.
There is a need in much more durable solution. Have one?

Click on the edit link besides post status as shown in

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/File:write1.png

Then change it to draft and click ok. This will hide the post everywhere.

If a widget is coded incorrectly (showing private posts), I do not think there is any plugin which can help.
