Category names not migrated from 2.1 to 2.6

  • In the Update from 2.1 to 2.6 the migration script failed to place the Category names in the the new wp_terms table the Id’s moved but not the titles link and descriptions ( which were blank in the source db table) I had to go into Add a category to get the link for the edit.

    The category page in the admin has a check box for delete but not edit if the name is blank there is no easy way to edit the category. I found a work around by adding a temp category then editing that cat and replaceing the id of the cat from my old db and then retyping it’s name and link. this fixed it but it was a pain.
