• My WordPress Blog is hosted by Yahoo. The blog is up and running well. I wish to enable posting by email, which is set up per the posting by email documents on this site; https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Blog_by_Email

    I always get the above error whenever I run https://example.com/installdir/wp-mail.php

    For certain, I have entered the pop3 info, user ID, and password correctly in the Blog setup, and the email account works and is active, and I can access if via pop3 by other means.

    I have searched and read every document that I can find, with no clue as to what this might be.

    Please can anyone help?

    Like I said in the original post, the user Id and password are definitely correct, and work with other pop3 access. I had read your earlier post too.

    I have spent many hours chasing this one, it is not that simple, well I hope it is, but an helpful answer would be good.

    I was getting a similar error. Not that one but close.
    I ended up on the phone with my web hosting company who I also got my blog email address from. Turns out they don’t support POP3 from the internet. She said it had to be from an email program. I thought she misunderstood but then changed my email address to a different company and it works just as it was supposed to.
    Go figure!

    I am using https://www.1&1.com
    Anyway good luck and hope that helps

    Same problem with post by email on Yahoo Web Hosting.

    POP3 connect: Error [13] [Permission denied]

    I believe this error is generated at the Yahoo servers and they block POP3 access by internet. Notice that the version of WordPress supported by Yahoo does not feature Post by email.
    Also, cannot run Postie SSL because Yahoo does not support PHP-IMAP.

    Hope they can offer this feature soon.

    @jfill,
