Hi, I am trying to use your free plugins on a website I created for a local gymnastics center.

It already has some google and facebook reviews, thus I would like the snippets to show the stars, and maybe some thumbnails of the pics and vids that will be linked on the posts and pages coming from the youtube channel etc… Guess a pretty standard situation.

I picked WPSSO + organization markup + place/location + JSON-LD markup for all this (am I ok with that choice?).

What I don’t quite well understand, is how to set up the rating display. Are all these things going by themselves according to google rules? Can’t I preview what the final result could be if google likes my website? ??

If you wanna take a look, that is https://www.ginnasticaardorpadova.com

    Thanks!

What plugin are you using to manage ratings and reviews?

Aggregate ratings and video detection / markup are part of the Pro features in WPSSO Pro and WPSSO JSON Pro, so you’d probably want to have a look at that. ?? From what you describe, all you would need is WPSSO Pro and WPSSO JSON Pro. If you use the Google validation tool (as suggested in the Setup Guide), you can see the information Google will pickup from your webpage(s).

www.ads-software.com restricts conversations in the forums to Free versions only, so I’ll mark this thread as resolved, but if you have any other questions about the Free version, feel free to follow-up. ??

As I wrote on my message, I am using WPSSO and its extensions.

I thought rating and review were supposed to be the very first feature one would expect from a rich snippet/schema/json plugin.

What would one use your plugin for, then?

Sorry for the very basic question but I am a newbie in rich snippets.

I’m not sure why you would expect that – aggregate ratings are just one kind of property, from a small subset of all available Schema types (typically used for the https://schema.org/Product type, for example).

The description page includes a section for “WPSSO JSON Free / Basic Features” that should give you an idea of the markup available in the Free version.

    And by your response:

As I wrote on my message, I am using WPSSO and its extensions.

I see you might be confused as to what WPSSO and WPSSO JSON do. They both get information form your content and provide markup for social sites and Google. They don’t manage the content itself. If you’re selling products, for example, WPSSO does not manage and sell your products — it gets information about your products and provides markup for it (as meta tags and JSON). You need am e-commerce plugin to manage your products. Same goes for ratings and reviews. WPSSO does not manage reviews — it gets information about those reviews and provides markup. So, the question remains — what plugin are you using to manage customer reviews and ratings?

I am not using anything for the ratings.

Some users reviewed my gym on Google and on Facebook, that’s it.

All I was trying to manage is to show the rich snippet with the stars, and possibly something more like the organization logo or stuff like that.

I don’t have a clue on what my best bet is, in order to enhance my snippets. Seems hard to get oriented…

    Thanks again!
