Update Escapade to Newer Version BUT….

  • I see I will loose my custome settings. Can I activate the new theme and restore from backup some how?

  • Hi jaymz69,

    When a theme (including child themes) is updated, the new set of files replace the existing set of files. This means any changes you’ve made to the theme files will be overwritten.

    Are the customizations CSS only? If so, I would recommend moving them all over to Simple Custom CSS plugin. Then you won’t have to worry about losing any changes when updating the theme.

    For any edits to PHP files, I think the easiest method would be to download them via FTP, and then reupload after the update. It’s not ideal, but it will get the job done.

    Hi everyone, totally new here, just hoping someone can explain how to remove the footer text in the Ecapade Theme as it said By GoDaddy at the bottom, I read that removing the code at the top of css file would do it but some other text is still there ie, copyrite 2017 IF anyone can help could you give me instructions please with a step by step process as I am a total beginner at this, sorry if this post is in wrong place , please advise, Thanks
