• Being a new student when I came to my WordPress Stats to be activated I found that it is not uploaded. Like Akismet.

My web site does not look like the ones in the training courses:

    My Account is not appearing

Akismet is always shown to be activated

My wordPress Key is found automatically when I go to activate Akismet.

    Your help is appreciated.

  • You need to download the WordPress Stats plugin from the Plugin Directory.

See Managing_Plugins for more on adding plugins to your site.

To get an API key, you need to register for an account at wordpress.com – you don’t need to have a blog there, but you do need an account. When you log in there, you will find in your profile the API key you need to use for Akismet and WP-Stats.

Please could you, step by step tell me how to execute the following instructions, specially the underlined:

Read through the “readme” file thoroughly that usually accompanies a plugin, or the website article from where you found the plugin. It is often helpful to print out the instructions so you can check off the installation steps as you complete them.

Upload the plugin to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress
    ——————————————————————–
    directory online.
    —————–

Make any changes to templates or files as required by the Plugin instructions including adding Plugin template tags.
