• Hi, I’ve downloaded and installed LearnPress and a few of the addon plugins. I have also completed the settings. However, when I go to create a course and add a section and click enter as per your video, there are no buttons displaying for adding the lessons and quizzes. There are 2 buttons showing “Select Lesson” and “Select Quiz” which only work if there is a lesson/quiz already created.

Since we also require offering and registering for free courses so after reading through the forum, I noticed your response that the free course capability is in 2.0.

I went ahead and installed the 2.0 hoping that it may also solve the missing buttons but the add lessons and quizzes buttons still do not display.

    Please help.

I have deactivated all plugins except learnpress and changed theme to twenty-sixteen and I still do not have the functionality as shown on your video tutorial. The 4 buttons are still not showing.

    Please help

    Hello Kathy_Goss,

First of all, I’m so sorry about this delay and thank you for use LearnPress.

About your questions I’ll answer one by one:
1, This is the logic of LearnPress, in the course creation/edit page use can use the Select Lesson” and “Select Quiz” to and a quiz or lesson which already create before. In case you want to create a new item you just enter the item title to the input “Enter name of new item here and press Enter” a new item will be created.

2, Not really, LearnPress 1 have this feature too, first you need to enable registration, after that you go to edit course page in the payment settings section choose free and enroll required, we done.

3, if you still confuse about adding the course items. please view this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKy13Huukg8, in section 2 “Course creation process”.

4, So sorry about the bad experience you had, the 4 buttons section was no longer exits we had removed and replace by a new method, please view the video I send above.

If there are any thing you need, please reply bellow.

    Kind regards.
    Minh.

Thank you for the response, deleting the old video tutorial would have saved me HOURS of time.

The creation process is still not very intuitive. The new video doesn’t show how you toggle the icon on the element row to switch from lesson to quiz.

I was not able to add questions in the quiz. After adding the quiz element on the course page, it appears the only way to add the question is to go to the sidebar menu and select and edit from there. However when I tried to add a question by Entering the question in the field and then selecting the type of question . . . nothing happened. There was no section to setup the question and the question was not listed in the sidebar question menu list.

So just to test what I had so far, I went to the front end and selected the class to enroll. There appears to be a problem with the AJAX once I submitted the enrollment form I was taken to a white page with the following code:

    <!-- LP_AJAX_START -->{"result":"success","redirect":"https:\/\/tester413.vtb-test.com\/course\/learnpress-test2\/"}<!-- LP_AJAX_END -->

When I hit the back button I saw that I had been enrolled so I began the class.

Clicking on the lessons is not bringing up the course content. The URL is showing the single course but the course overview page is still displaying.

Lot’s of issues. Note: I still have all other plugins deactivated on this test site.

I’m so sorry for the bad experience you had, I believe that was something unusual happened because we had optimized the install process as easy as we can so I just want to find out what was the reason behind all bad things happened to you and make sure that it would never happen again.

The course page is place to add course items such as lesson, quiz, assignment etc, so adding course curriculum you have to update course to save the course to the database. Then you could click the pencil icon in the right of each item to edit that one. when click to edit a quiz an edit quiz page will appear you can add question from there and don’t forget to save it. exactly same as a course curriculum, each question has a pencil icon in the right side click this icon to edit the question content. I believe there is no problem with this process.

I took a look to your site, there was something broken at the css and js file I think you should download the lasted version here and replace the old one. anyway LearnPress is on the final testing to release so it’s not stable yet.

I’m so sorry if we are wasting your time, you can wait a couple of day for the official version of LearnPress 2 to be available in www.ads-software.com,

    Regards.
    Minh.

Hi, thanks for your response. I uploaded and activated the new version.

We are slowly making progress but still having issues plus I have a question. Since the question is in regards to a requirement, I will start with it.

Question: Is it possible to enable comments within each lesson? We want to be able to invite people to “live” classes and provide commenting discussions as they go through the lessons.

Issues: 1. Quiz. I am able to add a quiz on the course page and click on the pencil icon to edit. However, on the quiz page I am not able to add questions. Although this needs to be fixed, most of the course material will not have quizes.

Issue: Student issue. As an enrolled student, I can now access the course outline page and view the lessons but when I click on the “complete” button, nothing is happening so it just shows no progress. Is a quiz required to be able to complete a lesson?

I’m having the same issues with not intuitive ceation of courses/lessons/quiz (I got absolutely nothing looking like the video) plus the unstable behaviour. Also, all my pages have a sidebar blank section that shouldn’t be there as I’m using a no-sidebar template. I feel like uninstalling until a stable version is released.

    Hi!
I’ve got the same issue, that I can’t add any elements to a course. It looks very different to the tutorial-video. If someone’s got the solution for this problem, I would be very glad.
    Thanks!
