Best practice to use post format?

I’m wondering what’s the best intended use for post formats like quote, link, video, etc. Customizr does support 10 different formats to better distinguish intended used, but how do you actually make use of them?

E.g. when I publish a link, I use the link format, for video the video format. etc.
Should I surround this with text and make it look more like a real post or just the plain embedded link, video, quote, etc? I think so, but …

If it’s intended to be included, is there support for it, or should I just use Inline Post Plugin? And how would you next manage content? E.g. if a referenced link breaks and I’d delete this “link” post, how would I figure out which original “standard” post is actually inlining this link?

As those post formats are just “formats” they will also get shown intermixed with standard posts. I guess I would have to create a dedicated post type, too, to exclude those from my standard blog posts?
In addition, if this would be fine, category galleries are missing headings, which makes this intermixing look ugly.

I think you get the idea, I haven’t really understood how to best use post formats with Customizr ??
