I updated to Wordfence version 6.2.3 and I’ve tried to run a scan a few times now, and each time I’m seeing this error:

Scan terminated with error: We received an error response when trying to contact the Wordfence scanning servers. The HTTP status code was [502]

I checked the automatic scan from this AM before the plugin update and also the last few days of scans and they were all fine.

    Please advise. Thanks.

  • Hi bws-online,
Are you still having this issue when you initiate a scan?

Please check (Wordfence > Diagnostics) and let me know what do you have in “Connectivity” section.

    Thanks.

Hello @wfalaa I’m also facing same problem with latest Wordfence version 6.3.2. I have tried everything and all the connection working fine but Wordfence giving following error with both http and https version in diagnostic tab:

wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed! Response was: 502 Bad Gateway<br /> This likely means that your hosting provider is blocking requests to noc1.wordfence.com or has set up a proxy that is not behaving itself.<br /> This additional info may help you diagnose the issue. The response headers we received were:<br /> server => nginx/1.4.6 (Ubuntu)<br /> date => Sat, 25 Feb 2017 10:14:55 GMT<br /> content-type => text/html<br /> content-length => 181<br />

So I uninstalled latest version and installed previous version 6.3.1 and the problem is solved. But again when I updated WordFence the problem again appeared. So Please help how to solve this issue?

    Hi Pramod,
Which hosting provider are you using?
Also, please go to (Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics) and scroll down the page till “Send Report by Email” and send the report to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”, make sure to include your forum username, I will take a look at this report and let you know my findings.

    Thanks.
