Exclude author

Hello

I like the ability to exclude a category using a minus sign like ‘cat’ => ‘-3’
I would love to be able to do so to exclude a specific author from the popular post list doing ‘author’ => ‘-17’

Is there any way to achieve this already ?
Would it be something worth implementing for a next release of the plugin ?
