I need to hyperlink to a completely new page with the <!–more–> tag ( not the usual page where the excerpt opens to a full posting)

    Appreciate any help

I hope this isn’t an attempt to lure an unsuspecting reader into clicking on an ad.

No, not this one. I tried this, it does not work

Originally MORE tag works like this

    I have post e.g https://www.mydomain.com/?p=105

and i cut this post somewhere in the middle with a More tag.

When you click on the More tag, it takes you to the original post.

This is not what i want ..

I am looking to hyperlink the More tag to a completely new page altogether e.g

    https://www.mydomain.com/newpage.html
which has everything from the original post and more

What I am saying is don’t use the more tag at all. Write an abbreviated post and create your own link at the end that points wherever you want it to go. If you want it to look like the regular more tag, just style it that way.

    Sorry i jumped ship.
i think i found a way now , it works but i am not sure it if it is the right thing to do

I cut off my post at one point and inserted this code

    MORE

then created a completely new page called NEWPAGE.HTM

When you click on MORE on the original post, it opens up to the NEWPAGE i wanted ..

is this the right thing to do

I believe that is exactly what I suggested.
