• On a fresh installation, all settings as default, new profile forms show up to logged-in members with fields missing and with no ability to edit.

This is testing with predefined fields “First Name” “Last Name” “Email” and “Biography” and then a custom field “file upload”.

In the form preview all fields show up nicely, and as editable.

In the logged-in member’s view, only First Name, Last Name, and Email fields display, not as editable, and Biography and file upload don’t show up at all.

My intent is for registered users to be able to edit a subset of profile fields.

Is there something that I am missing? THanks for any help.

    -Michael

What plugin are you using to define “members” and add these fields to the profile?

Thanks Steve. In this context – “Member” is defined by Ultimate Member. The fields added to the form came from the “predefined” list in Ultimate Mamber and the custom field was also defined in Ultimate Member form edit interface.

In our instance of WordPress, there appear to be eight roles defined under the standard WordPress Users admin interface(. NOted that the default of Ultimate Member seems to have two, Admin and Member. All users in our test instance appear to be under Ultimate Member’s “Member” role.

For testing the form, I cycled my test user through many roles (Including Admin) to see if there was some permissions issue. The form still renders just a few fields and doesn’t come up with editable fields for the user.

In case it matters, Other plugins installed are CIMY Extra Fields (Though we don’t expect any of those fields to work with Ultimate Member) Contact form 7 and CIMY User Export/Import (again we don’t expect any compatibility with those). I’ve also tested with simple themes, different users with various roles in case any of these are affecting this first test of Ultimate Member.

Do you think we are not setting a role-permission properly?

    Thanks for your responses,

    -Michael

The developers and users of this theme/plugin would be the best people to ask. You can reach them here:
