coupon code malfunction

  • using marketpress lite version 2.9.5.6 on wordpress 4.4.5. set coupon code in store settings for $5 off, unlimited uses, for a one month period choosing “all products” (rather than the only other two options, “product category” or “product”) thinking this would take $5 off the customer’s entire order. but instead it takes $5 off each product in the order. what do we do to make a coupon code that results in $5 the order total?

    I am afraid it is not possible out of the box to achieve with the Marketpress. This is a default behavior of the coupon functionality inside of MarketPress, the coupon code applies to each product and not per total order.

    I’ve searched, but we do not have ready code that can change this function. I have passed your request to our developers, if more users will request it, our developers will consider developing this feature.

    What makes Marketpress Lite so excellent is it is simple while providing most all desired needs of an e-commerce platform. A discount code applied to whole orders is standard on just about every e-commerce site out there, almost always e-commerce sites supply coupon codes for whole orders rather than single products; it would be very worthwhile for the developers to quickly craft a code for adding this option. Please forward my user request to the developers to expedite this for one of their very avid users of the Marketpress Lite e-commerce platform. Thank you in return.

    Hello I am writing again to submit request for Marketpress Lite developers to add a code to make the option of a discount code to be applied to whole orders instead of single products, as is currently the only option. As stated above, a whole order discount option is standard on most e-commerce sites out there. This request is coming from a devoted 5+ year user of your e-commerce platform that is my favorite and preferred e-commerce plugin, we are running it on over 7 sites and growing, and recommending to other new startup e-commerce site users. This would make a convenient addition to what is otherwise a perfect, lite e-commerce plugin. Thank you in return!

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    I am afraid it’s a very complex change and requires to rewrite partitions of the MarketPress code from the beginning.

    If this feature will be requested from other plugin’s users, our developers will consider it. For now, what you can do is to find a developer that can do the changes for you, check WP Jobs section for additional help from developers:
