Audio Not playing on iOS

  • Im not sure what has happened but none of the audio on my page will play through iOS 10.1.1. It all appears with the buttons. It changes from Play button to pause button but no audio will play.

    Hi, which version of the plugin are you running?

    I can confirm that some audio files are not playing at least not on my iPhone iOS 10.1.1. I tested it in Safari where it somewhat working and Chrome where none of the audios was working. I have heard from other users that it is suddenly not working on their laptop either. We are using sc_embed_player_template1, WordPress 4.6.1 running Twenty Fifteen Child theme, and compact audio player plugin version 1.9.6.

    @blaagrrrl, can you carry out a test. Don’t use template1 shortcode option. Use the following shortcode example.

    [sc_embed_player fileurl="URL OF THE MP3 FILE"]

    Actual my description wasn’t correct: I used both template1 and the regular sc_embed_player short code on each post. When I switched the template1 to sc_embed_player it worked, but some that were already using the sc_embed_player short shortcode still don’t play the audio file. I would really like to be able to use a full audio player with a progress bar on some of those audios, since those are long monologues or dialogues. Is the template1 short code deprecated?
    Btw there are multiple audio file embedded in each post. You have to expand the sections to see them.

    Same problem here. This page worked previously but doesn’t seem to play on iOs:

    I’ve updated to the latest plugin but it hasn’t helped. Any suggestions?

    I have just tested your page using my iPad running latest iOS (v10.2.1) as of today and it is working fine.

    I also tested the shortcodes in both my iPad and Android mobile devices. The players works fine in all those devices. So the plugin is definitely working fine for sure.

    Are you using an outdated OS version or an older device?

    I can confirm this doesn’t work on iPhone browsers.
    works on iPad, Mac, but not iPhone.

    using iPhone 7 with latest iOS (10.2.1)

    will there be an update?

    Confirmed I can not get mine to work either on iPhone 7 latest iOS (10.3.1)
