    Hi,

i have spent hours trawling through posts trying to find an answer to this problem but with no luck so far.

i am sure the answer is out there but i am a little too stupid to find it or perhaps how to search for it

i would like my product pages to have a page title that displayed like this:

PRODUCT NAME – PRODUCT CATEGORY NAME

    The standard setting is:

    %%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

    which gives you:

    PRODUCT NAME – WEBSITE NAME

I have tried replacing %%sitename%% with %%category%%, %%primary_category%% and %%category_description%% but none of these displayed anythgin in the product title

I then thought perhaps i should use %%term_title%% but i got a message saying:

“Warning: the variable %%term_title%% cannot be used in this template. See the help centre for more info.”

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would also like to get rid of ‘ARCHIVES’ which seems to appear all over my page titles as well – is there any easy way to do this within YOAST as i am not a coder and cannot mess with CSS.

    Many thanks!

The product category is most likely stored in a custom field. This variable allows you to select a custom field. To find out the name of your custom field, just download and install the Custom Field Finder plugin and easily find the custom fields you’re using!

    %%cf_<custom-field-name>%%

The word ‘Archives’ is usually found in the title templates here:

    Admin > SEO > Titles & Metas* > Taxonomies

    * If Titles & Metas is not visible, please enabled advanced features by following the steps here.

Thanks, i think i have fixed the archives issue

as for the category, i am sure it is %%term_title%% as that displays the category name when i am viewing the category as a whole.

When i want %%term_title%% to show in the page title of the product it does not work though and says:

“Warning: the variable %%term_title%% cannot be used in this template. See the help centre for more info.”
