Hi, I recently added the polylang plugin to a web project for having a mulingual Website in german/french. Unfortunately I see no way to handle the featured category. For example when I add the featured category widget in the german part the setting of the category in the french part is lost. As far as I can see there is only one entry in the database table wp_options. Is there a way to have this pluging working with a multilang site?

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi,

how does polylang work? With filters? Then it shouldn’t be any problem. If you have two diffrerent categories for the French and the German content, it will be quite impossible though, to get the whole thing working.

But if the category is the same and the articles are the same, the filtered content should do the rest.

If it turns WP into a multisite environment, you’ll have to activate and configure the widget for both sites.

As far as I unterstand the polylang plugin one has to translate all categories. The categories are in relation to the one created in the other language. When you don’t translate the categories you can not set a category in the chosen language. Seems to me that I have to look for an other plugin.

    Thanks for your reply

[Solved] Hello all, sorry for the rumble. I did not see that I can add the widget twice in the Sidebar and then choose the settings for a certain language. It is working perfectly.

    Best regards
