I’ve been running into some issues lately where the Administrator is not given certain permissions for say a newly installed plugin like Gravity Forms. Then I need to manually go in and add those caps.

It would be handy to have (a) a toggle to allow all caps, for instance admins to avoid lots of checkbox clicking (b) have some ability to assign or maintain that admins continue to have full caps.

    Thanks for the consideration!

  • This is actually up to the individual plugin authors. Most plugins with custom caps will add those on activation to the administrator role. If you take a look at something like my Custom Content Portfolio plugin, for example, you’ll see that it does exactly this.

There’s no way for Members to know up front when to add a cap for a new plugin, so this must be done by the new plugin itself, which is standard practice anyway.

In the case of Gravity Forms, the plugin devs made the decision to not auto-add the caps when Members is installed.

Aha, good to know. Thank you for the quick response. I will follow up with the plugin devs. Cheers
