Permalinks and Breadcrumbs

  • On an existing site (Genesis Theme) with several thousand posts….

    I would like to add breadcrumbs to the website but not sure how to do it without re-writing/breaking all current urls…

    When switching on breadcrumbs for posts and pages each post shows as being under “news” although the post may be in two categories – ie. “news” and “reviews” ideally I would like the reviews to be a sub-category of news.

    the current permalink structure is /news/%post_id%/%postname%/

    Is it possible to add a breadcrumb display structure (to include categories) that won’t re-write (and therefore break) all existing urls?

    ie. News>>Reviews>>Post

    Any suggestions?
