Installation in subfolder not working

Hi there,
I am new to wordpress installation. I downloaded the latest WP version, installed in a subfolder on my site ex: https://www.mysite.com/wordpress/, successfully created and linked database, copied index.php and moved web.config to root directory, however still experiencing the following issues:

1. “W” logo not loading – images path incorrect
2. cannot login to admin panel – keeps returning to login page even though username and password are correct
3. seeing an error message – Error in my_thread_global_end(): 2 threads didn’t exit

I have been trying to resolve all this for days now and no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction? Much appreciated.
