Facebook wont show thumbnailon mobile app

  • Hello,

    All of a sudden Facebook stoppped showing thumbnails when i share my URL’s in the mobile app. When i copy the URL is does generate the thumbnail, but when i post it its gone. This is very recent, because my earlier URL’s(few days earlier) all generate thumnbails perfectly. It started today or yesterday.

    I tried the Facebook scraper also, and it say something about a missing app_ID. Although, is does show me the right thumbnail. But the ‘error’ message is given when i scrape all my other URL’s, which all works fine, so probably thats not it. On desktop everything seems to work fine though, just mobile.

    Can somebody tell me how to resolve this? This is my URL to test: https://www.stijnspreekt.nl/test1/

    UPDATE: I fixed it. The image in the post was to small. It must be at least 500 x 500.

    Hi Stijn,

    Thanks for letting everyone know about the solution you found. Just as an FYI, if anyone ever needs to RESET the image being scraped for the shared links from WordPress used in Facebook, you can use the Sharing debugger found here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/.

    This will clear out the old image and make sure that latest one is being used.
