What happened to the template list in 2.6.1????

    I’d like to report a very bad and dissapointing bug in WP 2.6.1…

    Just upgrated my WP to 2.6.1 and the list of available templates I’ve created that was visible under pages (in edit mode) totally vapoured out!
    It is not available anymore and I can’t select any template I’d like to use anymore. I suspect it must be a bad BUG since any change of that kind isn’t mentioned anywhere.

    I HOPE THIS IS GONNA BE RESOLVED ASAP – I CAN’T DOWNGRADE MY WP NOW!!!

  • I use custom page templates on several sites with 2.6.1 *shrug*

    Makalunga007, is it possible that you overwrite your wp-contents folder and thus wiped out your custom templates?

    This is an oversight about which the upgrade instructions explicitly warn.

    Hopefully you followed Step 0:

    Just in case something goes wrong, make sure you have a backup. WordPress Backups is a comprehensive guide.

    If so go into the backup, retrieve your custom templates, ftp them into the appropriate theme folder and you’ll be back in business.

    If this wasn’t your problem, sorry for the wasted advice. But custom templates are working fine for me and the only time I lost them was when I wasn’t paying attention <smile>.
