HTML in series description?

Seems like this line is responsible for stripping HTML tags from the series description: https://github.com/hlashbrooke/Seriously-Simple-Podcasting/blob/master/templates/feed-podcast.php#L139
Can you confirm that if I remove that function call HTML would appear in the series description? Is there a better way to allow HTML in the series description?
