index.php

So, I have buddypress installed and I created the pages as instructed through the pages section and ‘connected’ these pages to buddypress using the settings. However, the pages that Buddypress is using, are not the same as the ones from the Pages section. For some reason, my pages are loading from index.php….I am unsure if that is correct or if that is going to cause problems later on. I figured out how to work around it…but I would like to know if the index.php thing is going to cause me issues and how to fix it.
Buddypress is loading eltconjunction.com/members etc.
Pages is creating eltconjunction.com/index.php/memberswent to Buddypress forum. Their people are…in need of chocolate ice cream (?) .but here is the link to that.
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/core-pages-not-populating/From the standpoint of a novice, it appears to be lazy programming to me, instead of having Buddypress actually integrate with the website for the actual page address, it creates its own links..
they are saying this is a wordpress issue.
