i know that but did you actually check the download file?

Its version 2.6.1 and not 2.6.2.

even the readme.html is saying that it is 2.6.1.

So where is the proper update file? ??

strange, i see that my wordpress is up to Version 2.6.2.

When i tried to update earlier it said that my database was allready up to date.

So thats when i found out it was 2.6.1 i downloaded.

This has been a strange update, not like the other updates so i don’t know how it got update to 2.6.2. :s

I must say on one of my blog updates the upgrade said my db was already up to date yet the version was changed in admin. I’ll look into this.

Yes, yes, they forgot to update the readme file. They were in a bit of a hurry for the security patches.

Look at the version.php in the wp-includes directory. That’s what they normally update. Better yet, look at the bottom of your admin screen. It’ll show you what the real version is.

Also, there is no database update on this one. Not every upgrade updates the database. In fact, you don’t even have to visit the upgrade.php page, ever! All you have to do is go to the wp-admin page as per normal. If it needs a database upgrade, it will tell you so explicitly and give you a link to do it. WordPress is smart like that.

Never mind – mystery solved. :>)
