  • It sounds like an old issue has come back. The problem is that WordPress disables all feeds when there are no post types to be included in a normal (RSS or Atom) post feed. And it seems to do this even if a plugin like XML Sitemap Feeds uses feeds to show other info than the usual posts feed…

I’ll have to look into this but cannot promise a fix soon. It might be best for you to find another XML sitemap alternative.

Or create at least ONE (even empty) post that may have a very old post date, that does not matter. You can deactivate the inclusion of Posts in the sitemap if you wish, so it won’t show in the sitemap…

Unfortunately I have same problem on website with Polylang where I have posts only in one of two available languages…

That is indeed the same issue… will have to look into it.

Refreshing permalinks has nothing changed, bug still exists.

Sorry, I was confused with your other thread… this is indeed the same issue as in your first post: WordPress concludes there are no posts (in that language) and disables all feeds.

Will have to find a way around that.

Your only solution at this point is to create at least ONE post translation.

@ravanh This solution works for my first problem, for second not ??

Can you share a link to your sitemap?

There’s something very funny going on there… What are your permalink settings? And the Polylang settings regarding language path etc.?

All languages should be present in the main sitemaps. Not only the English ones… Same as in your sitemap-home.xml

I have set own format “/%category%/post/%postname%/”. On other site everything works perfect (except first problem): https://jix.im/sitemap.xml On this two sites I have the same Polylang settings, only permalink settings are different (for test I changed it and no effect).

I found that the problem exists when I have activated this plugin: https://github.com/grappler/polylang-slug ??

Ah yes, good spot! That plugin is not compatible with XML Sitemap Feeds

Uhm I will report it to developer. So the second problem is resolved ?? Now I waiting only for fix “This is not a valid feed”.

That can currently only be resolved by creating one post. You can even exclude the post from the sitemap if you need to but there must be at least one.
