Plugin caused PHP Fatal error

We updated the plugin three days ago and we are experiencing issue on our site.
Debug shows this:

wppa_in_widget()is there already for years, andserialize(Array)should be possible…
Do you remember the version of wppa you were on or when you updated before?
What is your php version?If needed, i can provide a patch with a possible fix that you have to test.
