• When testing I receive the following:

    [INFO ] Checking address ‘10.107.12.20’ and port 389 – OK
    [INFO ] LDAP connection is encrypted with “starttls”

    but then

    [WARN ] Username for the sync user does not contain a correct suffix. If the connection to the ad fails, this could be the cause. Please make sure you have added all UPN suffixes to the configuration tab User -> Account suffix.
    [ERROR] Authentication for user ‘myuser’ failed because: Can’t contact LDAP server

    I have none of the “synch” options checked/activated. Is a service account still necessary?

    I have just looked into the issue you are describing. I was able to replicate your exact issue. Please check the encryption option “strttls” and If your Active Directory supports it.
