So far I have tested this in Chrome and Microsoft Edge and with the Flash Play enabled, it plays in edge without issue but in chrome it says HTML5: Video is not encoded correctly and with flash enabled is says “Adobe Flash is disabled for this page, click player area to enable” Flash is not disabled, I have it set in chrome to always run and I have most up to date version. I click the video area and nothing happens. I also know flash works because I have have flash ads that work just fine. The videos played just fine without flash before the Update to 4.7 and the updates of given plug-ins that were updated with that update, this player I believe was one of them.

Debugging tools show a JS error where the play function is interrupted. The video block with splash screen displays but errors out once play is clicked.

Just a quick update: Firefox says “HTML5: Unsupported video format. try installing Adobe flash” Which I don’t have installed in firefox yet. Just so it is known the videos are .mp4/H.264

Well it seems I am going to eat some of my own words. I don’t know why it was so sudden and it seemed to match up with wordpress updating, but it had nothing to do with wordpress and your plug-in and everything to do with Chrome which I thought was up to date but I had to force an update which fixed the playing issue not just on my wordpress site also on Amazon video which is what tipped me off.

FYI for anyone who cares. I found out the playing issues was associated with a bad mime as far as my site went. My converting software wasn’t setting the mime to video/mp4 but to plain/text. When I used a different converting software and fixed the mime the video played with out issue.

    Hi Jeffery,

Thanks for taking the time to come back and report what happened. We are very happy to hear that you’ve found the encoding issue. Online video is complex and video encoding very complex. We have a video checker built into FV Player which should tell you when there are issues with your video encoding and even what those issues are.

We also offer a guide to bullet proof encoding for HTML5 playback.

    Thanks for using FV plugins!
