    Hi,

I have an issue with an ics feed that I notice is similar to many unsolved problems in the forums.

The issue is that the feed works for a while, and then stops adding new events or updating events.

I’ve been testing at my end with a simple text feed, and it seems to me that Timely may be using some kind of feed cache?

I have a one event ics feed, and for a while I could change that event and it would load into my calendar fine, as changed. Now, whatever I change, the only event that loads is one from several changes ago. That must meant that a cached version of the feed is being loaded each time.

Where is the cache? Is it my server? Or is it Timely?

This would explain what happens with my real feed – ie, it says “24 events” have been loaded but shows nothing. That’s because it’s loading the same 24 events from 3 months ago – it’s loading the same cached feed again and again.

If you’re keeping the cache, could you please reset it, or fix the bug that sets it?

If it’s not you, well, I don’t know where the cache is.

  • Hi,

Can you please provide the feed URL with which you have this issue.

    My real feed is https://services.morden.church/scripts/ics/services.60.ics
    My test feed is https://services.morden.church/scripts/ics/test3.ics

The event that gets imported when I import test3.ics is this:

    BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    PRODID:-//Google Inc//Google Calendar 70.9054//EN
    VERSION:2.0
    CALSCALE:GREGORIAN

    STATUS:CONFIRMED
    SUMMARY:Test Event
    TRANSP:OPAQUE
    END:VEVENT
    END:VCALENDAR

… which was the initial version of test3.ics
I modified this line by line to try and see why my real feed wouldn’t import. Eventually test3.ics stopped importing. I’ve just tried it again, and it imports the old data.
    Best wishes,
    David.
