    Hello friends,
    Sorry I’m about to complain.
I connect from various IPs. Again and again I’m locked out by Jetpack. 2 solutions were suggested: 1. to Whitelist the IP from wordpress.com; Unfortunately this does not work. The second solution was to define the IP as ok in the wp-config.php file. This does work, but it is really time consuming to open and change the wp-config for each IP I’m using.
    Sincerely,
    Ben Carp

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

If you keep getting locked out, regardless of where you connect from, it might be worth investigating a bit more to understand why this is happening. Do you often mistype your username or password multiple times before to be able to get in? Do you connect from locations where others try to log in to your site or other Jetpack sites (like a library, a working place, or a coffee shop)? Is your phone always with you, connected to the same network, and using one of the WordPress mobile apps? If so, is your WordPress login / password set up properly in that mobile app?

If none of this applies to you, something must be wrong with your server configuration and keeps tripping Protect. That would also explain why whitelisting the IP from WordPress.com doesn’t work. Could you then post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for your reply.
Without going into details here in the forum, The options you mentioned do not apply to me.
The only thing that might be causing the problem from my side is that I use a few browser sessions (each connected to a different user) on my laptop, and usually I edit on one user, and then view the site from a different. Otherwise the host is Site ground.
    Is it a common problem?

It’s quite rare but sometimes server configuration issues happen, your IP address is not stored properly, and Protect can’t do its job. It has actually happened with some SiteGround servers in the past, so if you could let me know your site URL I’d be happy to take a closer look.

If you’d rather not post it here in the forums, you can use the form I posted above.

    Thanks!

    Thanks.
It seems to be the case. When I am blocked I see this message: “Your IP (xx.xxx.xxx.xx) has been flagged for potential security violations. Find out more…” And actually it shows the wrong IP.
I will provide more info in the form. I will be thankful if you can respond to it yourself shortly.
    Sincerely,
    Ben Carp
