MH Techmagazine child theme question

    Hi, if I want to make changes to MH Techmagazine theme, do I need to make a child theme for it? This is the first time I’ve updated MH Techmagazine that caused all my changes to be wiped out. I read in the description that that this was a child of MH Magazine Lite and because of that, I guessed I didn’t need to make a child for MH Techmagazine. Thankfully I had a backup of my files so I was able to restore everything, but I do need to update my theme and before I do that would like to know if it’s possible to make a child of a child.     thanks for using MH TechMagazine.

    MH TechMagazine is already a child theme for our popular MH Magazine lite theme and you can’t create a child theme for a child theme in WordPress.

    What you could do is create a child theme for MH Magazine lite and then customize whatever you have in mind. If you just want to customize CSS code, you could also simply keep the MH TechMagazine activated and add your custom CSS code under Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS in your WordPress dashboard or use a plugin for custom CSS code.

    As an alternative, you could have a look at the premium version of MH Magazine. This premium theme comes with additional features, options and custom widgets and also includes flexible layout options to replicate the same layout as MH TechMagazine – see theme demo. There are more demos as well where you can see the flexibility of this theme: MH Magazine Demos.

    With that approach you could configure the premium version of MH Magazine to have a design and layout similar to MH TechMagazine and then create a custom child theme for MH Magazine which contains your own code modifications.
