I currently have Windows Azure Storage for WordPress set so that files upload directly to the top level of the CDN.

Basically, file structure is https://cdn.animeherald.com/aniheraldcdn/YYYY/MM/Filename.xyz

And, this worked for quite a while. However, in the past few days, it seems that the plugin has broken in some way. The files are uploading fine, but for some reason, files like the thumbnails and other sizes are being referenced incorrectly in code.

Thumbnails are searching for:

https://cdn.animeherald.com/aniheraldcdn//var/www/animeherald.com/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Power-Rangers-2017-Goldar-Visual-001-20161219-150×150.jpg

– this directory doesn’t exist on my CDN. Should be https://cdn.animeherald.com/aniheraldcdn/2016/12/Power-Rangers-2017-Goldar-Visual-001-20161219-150×150.jpg

Likewise, actual image references are searching for image references that don’t exist. Example tag below:

Correct files should be:

I’m currently using caching plugin WP Rocket, but this appears to be out of the plugin’s purview. References are also showing up in the postmeta table.

Hi @maturra

We recently had same issue reported but it turns out to be conflict with Smush plugin. Are you using that plugin by any chance? If so, can you please check with https://github.com/10up/windows-azure-storage/tree/fix/smush-conflict code? Please note, this code is not production ready so please check in development environment first. If not using Smush plugin, can you please check new uploads with other plugins disabled and with WordPress default theme?

Hi Ritesh, I’m not using WP Smush (I actually ditched it due to a few reasons), opting for EWWW Image Optimizer. I’ll also see if disabling EWWW mitigates the issue, then try the new branch.

Looks like it’s EWWW causing the issue. I’m guessing that the underlying logic for it and WP Smush are fairly similar.

I’ve deactivated the plugin for the time being. Once the plugin fix is in production, feel free to reach out – I’ll be more than happy to send feedback, if you’d like. Thanks much for the quick response and all the hard work going into this! ??

We have released a new update of the plugin (version 4.0.1) which fixes this issue. Can you check and let us know if you still face the issue?
