Syntax Error in functions.php

  • Just installed this theme to try it out and right away I got the following syntax error that doesn’t even allow me to get into the admin dashboard:

    
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in D:\Hosting\2464642\html\sandbox\wp-content\themes\ruffie\functions.php on line 244

    I am using version 1.4.1 of the theme.

    PHP Version 5.3.6. I tried upgrading to 5.4.16 (which is the highest version that GoDaddy offers for shared hosting) and my site didn’t even come up, so I switched back.
