Hi,
This could be a temporary error that your server can’t connect to ours, are you still having this issue even after starting a new scan?

Also, please check (Wordfence > Diagnostics => Connectivity) and let me know if there is any errors appearing there.

Thanks.

Hi

I have the same problem post updating my WP version to 4.7. Please find below the error on running the scan:

Scan Summary:
[Jan 16 07:27:56]Previous scan terminated with an error. See below.Scan Complete.

Scan Detailed Activity:
[Jan 16 07:27:56] Scan terminated with error: There was an error connecting to the the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

Under Wordfence > Diagnostics:
Checking for cURL support: 7.36.0

Connecting to Wordfence servers (http): wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed! Response was: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds
Connecting to Wordfence servers (https): wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed! Response was: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds
I have also unchecked the option: Enable SSL Verification

Appreciate all possible help at the fastest possible time.

Cheers

Hi

So I figured out the problem, the API key is blank and I tried saving the form but it returned with the following error:

free API key from the Wordfence servers. However we encountered a problem fetching the free key: There was an error connecting to the the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

So in a nutshell the problem is that I am unable to get an API key. Can you help?

Cheers
Tej

Hi Tej,
No, the main reason for both issues is that your server can’t connect to our servers so it can’t fetch an API key to start a new scan, I suggest reporting this issue to your web host maybe they are blocking such cURL connections on your server in general or to our servers in particular, at least they should be able to elaborate more details about that.

Thanks.
