• Hi,

I am setting up WP as a CMS and am creating mostly pages rather than posts. The problem I have is that the pages are appearing in the menu in the order they are created and I need them to display in a specific order of my choosing.

    Is this possible?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, I couldn’t find any reference to the problem.

    regards,

    Barry McCabe

Answering myself here, I think I found my solution..

    The pagemash plugin.

Also, on the Write Page screen, you’ll notice a section called “Page Order”. This holds a number that you can change. If you change it, then most bits of WordPress that display pages will show them in the order as given by this number (ascending). All that PageMash plugin does is give you a simpler way to manipulate that value.

i’m using pagemash but some themes still order the pages alphabetically in the sidebar. i’m probably doing something dumb, but can’t figure it out. anyone got any idea?

forget that stupid question. sorry. for anyone else who is as dumb as me, read the instructions. make sure ‘page order’ is selected in the widgets menu.
