• I was using Specia for my website, and I created a child theme so that I could override some styles. Today I saw that Specia had an update, so I updated, thinking that my styles would be safe since it’s a child theme. But boy was I wrong!!! Don’t try to use this with a child theme unless you’re prepared to re-do your styling from scratch every time Specia puts out an update.
Also, Specia uses the !important tag inside their css, so it’s sometimes pretty hard to override styles! ??
(Today I had to re-do my styling, and then add !important tag to many of my css styles, and even then it didn’t show the colors properly. Finally I just deleted Specia’s default.css file and that finally solved the problems.)
Anyone who knows even a little bit about WordPress child themes knows that child themes are supposed to take care of this issue! There is some serious flaw in Specia if they are messing this up so terribly!!!
