Hi, I just purchased this plugin and despite the complexities of the tagging and custom fields displaying in the sidebar and tabs, got most of it figured out. The only issue so far is that when I check the box to hide empty custom fields, they still show as tabs. I have a lot of variety of products to display with different tabs for each, right now 8 tabs, but don’t use them all for all products so of course I need to hide the ones that have no content. But it isn’t. Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Gus

Oh, I updated everything, turned off all other plugins and changed to default themes and no luck…

    Hi Gus,

When you say “they still show as tabs”, do you mean that you are using the tabbed product page layout and that you added new custom tabs to your product page (i.e. using the “Add Tabs” section of the “Product Page” area in the plugin admin)? Tabs added/created this way are not hidden by the “Hide Blank Custom Fields” option. This option hides the custom field label from the catalog views (i.e. thumbnail, list and detail) and from the “Additional Information” tab in the tabbed product page layout.

Yes, that what I’m doing. I have tabbed layout with a bunch of tabs, but all of my products will have some empty tabs and I want to them to not show as tabs if they’re empty. HAve you thought about that? If not, I may see if I can do it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Gus,

There’s no option to do that by default. The easiest way to customize the plugin to do that would probably be to use JS to check whether each tab has content, and then hide the tab label if there is no content in that tab.
