I am having a similar issue, and truthfully it is beyond my technical ability to work it out.

For anyone else who may read and who may be able to offer guidance I will explain a a little and thanks so much in advance.

I had a www.ads-software.com site hosted by Hostgator, the costs became expensive for the amount of use so I completed a back up and now have a new site (through Square Space), so nice and user friendly for me.

However, from the back up I can only locate the photography and not the written content, does anyone know how to locate writing in a backup folder?? I can’t seem to log on to www.ads-software.com (and of course the domain name is no longer) to see if the writing is on the CMS there?

My laptop died and I don’t have backup of my content. Any help would be appreciated, if it is possible but just needs more technical ability then happy to find someone to help me. Just need to know if all is lost at present.

Did you try to change the domain in the database?

I can’t change it back as we have another site live on it now, we just need to get the data out to upload it to the new site.

Is that what you mean? Or is there a way to change the WordPress URL to a generic one so we can access it?
