I just went through an error log. Besides numerous attempts to get at /uploads/, wp-admin/ and /admin-tools.php/, I found this from my IP

] [client 7] PHP Warning: require(ABSPATHwp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /mnt/.com/wp-settings.php on line 19, referer:

I can’t load anything other than index.php. Everything else is Page Not Found though I see the files via ftp. I also see the posts and db in phpmyadmin.

If I can’t login to fix settings, how do I fix things? And, if I see wp-login.php in the directory under the domain via ftp, why won’t it show for anyone?

    – Try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!

It’s a fresh install. The site is new with no content. That’s the problem. Fresh install yet things aren’t seen. Tomorrow I’ll delete all again and reinstall. There is just the htaccess provided. I have a lot to add but want the site available first.
    Thank you.

    It’s a fresh install.

The reaso I suggested manual update is in case some files did not get installed during the “fresh” install

I did an install but some files weren’t copied due to battery dying on my laptop. On Wednesday I redid it. Then I did it again on Friday with no issues.

I usually do a manual install rather than auto update. I like to wait a few weeks before updating in case of issues. Sometimes the updates need a tweak so I wait. I know, too cautious, but it’s leftover from a dozen years ago.

Today I’ll hopefully do another fresh install after deleting everything. I have a custom script there but I have a copy on my laptop ??.

New year, new install, and hopefully a new smile on my face ??
