Menu Hover Color to Stick when Selected

One is current/active item color and another is hover. you would need to set current/active item color

Below mentioned css rule is for Robosome theme.
.main-navigation ul.nav-menu,
.main-navigation div.nav-menu > ul {
background-color: #00988F !important;
}
Make the required changes to the above code for current/active menu item and it will work. Hope this helps!!

Thank you for the assistance. . . unfortunately it isn’t quite what I’m after. I have only one item in my menu that I want green when selected – the Start Here page. With the code provided it makes all my pages green when selected. I guess I don’t know how to isolate the code for a single menu item. (PS, my website now has the Start Here green all the time, not just during a hover – I preferred this structure for the time being.)

I figured it out! Here’s the added code that did the trick for this theme:
