    Hi,

I want to bulk upload/create posts for a sub category (as a category within a parent category) but don’t know how to head that column or how to map that from the csv.

I also need to add lines into the Yoast SEO Focus Keyword field as well as the meta description in the snippet editor.

I think the fields I use for these last two on the csv are “seo_meta_desc” and “seo_focus_keyword”?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

You can head that column as post_category and give the Parent and Child Categories separated by Arrow (->) separator. You can map that column to Category under Terms and Taxonomies tab of the mapping section.

For Importing Yoast SEO you can use title, mets_desc, focus_keyword for the Yoast SEO fields.

WP Ultimate CSV Importer FREE version supports All-In-One SEO only.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Many thanks for the swift response!

I’m definitely interested in using the pro version if I can get exactly what I need.

So, I tried the separator but the upload added the post into both the parent category and child category as well. That’s great but in this instance I need it just to go into the child/sub category. Can that be done?

When I go to the SEO section I cannot choose the field to map to. I assume that’s because I’m on the FREE VERSION and because I’m not using All-in-one-SEO?

So ultimately, I’m looking at populating the following fields in this screen grab…

…they are Title, Category (just child), Tags, Thumbnail, Meta Desc, Focus KW – and the last two are Yoast.

    Is this possible?

    Many thanks for your time,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Yes, All the fields you asked for like Title, Tags, Thumbnail, Meta Desc, Focus KW of Yoast SEO can be imported. The category import is fine with normal Parent – Child category, we just needs to work on the Category import (Just Child).

    Hi,

    Thanks for this.

May I ask what you put in the category column to get the entry into the child theme only?

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

We need to code for putting the entry only in Child category.

    Hi,

    Thanks again for your time.

    Just a couple of questions.

So, do I need to get the pro version before I can enter the Meta Desc and Focus KW for Yoast?

    and,

If you need to code for putting in the Child category only, is that code you can provide to my developer and my version of CSVIFW Pro or would I have to wait for a new general release? (if that’s something you would do anyway!)?

    Many thanks,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Yes, You have to upgrade to PRO for Yoast fields import. You don’t have to wait for the General release, you can get that code on your purchased license.
